2nd Quarter Info for Hybrid Students

10/8/2020

We are so ready to see all of our students return on October 12 or October 14 as we begin our hybrid learning model. Here are some things that will be useful for students and parents to this transition smooth.
  • Classrooms will only be at 50% capacity each day. A Day students will come to school on Mondays and Tuesdays only. B Day students will come to school on Wednesdays and Thursdays only. Students will distance learn from home on days they do not attend school.
  • They school day will be from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm. Students may not be dropped off prior to 7:30 and must be picked up by 2:30 due to the inability to hold students in groups. Drop off and pick up will occur at the carline area only. If you are picking up 3 or more students, you may use the Bus Area on the other side of the building.
  • Third - eighth grade students need to bring their laptops and chargers each day. Please ensure that laptops are fully charged.
  • Students must wear a mask of face covering when arriving or leaving school and when they cannot social distance themselves from others.
  • Teachers must wear a mask or face covering.
  • Nurse J.J. will monitor all staff and students for symptoms.
  • Related arts classes (Art, Music, etc.) will occur in the student's regular classroom. Students will have P.E. in the cafeteria. Middle school students will not change classes; teachers will rotate class to class.
  • Breakfast and lunch will be eaten in the classroom. Students may not bring lunch that requires heating as microwaves will not be available. Delivery of fast food will not be allowed.
  • Students need to bring water bottles as water fountains will not be used. We have ordered an automatic water bottle fill station that should be installed soon.
  • Students will not share materials.
  • Classrooms will be sanitized thoroughly throughout the day and after students are dismissed daily.

The theme of the week was "kindness" based on the book Horton Hears a Who. To show kindness and give back to the community, students collected paper products for the Center of Hope Women's Shelter. Students exceeded their goal of 200 rolls! Happy Birthday, Dr. Seuss!
